Your first session will be used for us to get to know each other. I will ask some basic questions about what brings you in, what your goals are, and how you would like your counseling experience to look. You will also be able to ask me any specific questions you have about me, my process, or counseling in general! We will work together to create an individualized treatment plan that uses your strengths to meet your goals.
This is the good part. Individual sessions can be crafted to fit your needs, making these sessions unique to you. Maybe you want to learn more about psychology, emotions, and being human. Maybe you are in the mood to explore deep into your own thoughts and emotions. Maybe you just want to vent in a safe space, with no judgment, and see what comes up.
And of course, whatever we do, we can always incorporate art and creativity!
Everyone knows it takes a village, and mental health is not an exception. The people and relationships in our lives can have a huge impact on our success and happiness. Bring them in! Many topics like communication, boundaries, and values can be even more powerful when our people are practicing with us.
